Flogging Molly, Lesbian Suicide Attempts and Beer Pong
I hope everyone had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! I of course went to Tempe Beach Park and saw Flogging Molly
! They were INCREDIBLE - as I knew they would be. They played all the stuff I wanted to hear, and some songs off their newest album. That was great. Nona and I headed down there together and parked by a friends house.
Across the street I saw an awesome dog that was on a roof, but then it got mad that I took it's picture and tried to eat me. (All the pictures are below.)
Once I got through the crazy line for will call, we were off and ready to have some fun! N was waiting with a green beer since she was smart and printed her ticket. Ran into a group of friends and just had a great time.
Line for the ladies, was as always, LONG. I took role of jump master, encouraging everyone to speed it up. They were quite impressed with my speed....if you can't walk the walk....
N and I got separated for most of the night. She enjoys the mosh pits, I'm WAY too claustrophobic for that.
After the show, I had to walk a ways to catch up with N. In front of me there was a VERY drunk, very distraught girl. We were waiting by the corner for the light to change, she kept wobbling into the street right in front of cars. Finally I grabbed her and yanked her back. Once the light changed and we started walking, she started SOBBING. As we finished crossing the street she yelled something about wanting to end it all. It was very dramatic. Then she tried to jump into the oncoming traffic. Once again I pulled her back and asked her what was wrong. She told me that her girlfriend hated her, was terrible etc. I found out she was only 23, reminded her she had her whole life, you know, the usual hysterical girl chat. She asked me if I had ever been with a girl. I knew if I said "No" it would invalidate everything I just told her. So I said "Yes, they are all bitches!" This started her crying again, but she emphatically agreed with my assessment. Finally, I got her back to her girlfriend and safely off to the car. Well, I don't know what happened next, but they were out of my hair.
After that I was almost uneventful. Went to a house party where I played my first ever game of beer pong. Now my idea of a drinking game is one where I DRINK. I think I am way too old for beer pong. By this point I was pretty tired and ended up just heading home.
All in all, it was a pretty awesome St. Patrick's Day! Here's the pics:
