Yesterday morning, around 6 am (I don't get up till 7:30 or so) my dog, Guinness, starts barking his head off.  He's doing the special, "Mom, you are sleeping and someone's in the back yard bark."  He does this if the pool guy comes while I'm still asleep. If I'm up, he just runs outside and tries to help.  I think about it (still not fully awake) and realize the pool guy came YESTERDAY.

Now I want to know who the hell is in my back yard.  I look outside - nothing.  Nada, not a soul in sight.  But Guinness is still going ape shit.  Then I see it....


There were two ducks swimming in my pool!  And they were having a blast - I kid you not, they were splashing and having all kinds of fun.

Then they got out of the pool, waddled around on the cool deck, crapped on the cool deck and then waddled some more.

I think ducks are very cute.  Not so much when they crap, but in general.  Guinness thought they looked tasty, and kept asking me if he could go eat them.  I said no, because it was a boy duck and a girl duck, and it looked like they were on a date.

This is one entry I REALLY wish I had a photo to post, but by the time I grabbed my camera, the ducks were gone.

And I know that ducks in a pool is a common occurrence - but I'd never had it happen to me before, and I know these were special dating ducks.
