A Few Things on My Mind

Meh.  That is my word of the day.  Up until last night at 1:03 AM, I would have said I was doing fantastic.  However, I got one of those phone calls....my brother totaled the car - the car he bought 2 weeks ago.  He's fine, no one was hurt...and I am going to leave it at that. That's the kind of thing that can throw you off rail.

However, I like to focus on the positive - so let's do that.  So much GOOD stuff has been going on that I am not even sure where to start.  Looking back over my last several posts, I realized, I haven't been talking about me...not that there's anything wrong with it, I guess i just haven't felt like anything was personally interesting right now.  So here's a little about me and my life.

Recently a friend of mine whom I haven't seen in years found me on MySpace.  We had been really good friends a few years back, but drifted apart and lost touch.  She came to my last party, and it was like we hadn't really spent any time apart.

So she and I have been going out and being more adventurous that I have been lately.
We have tried out new places, talked to new people and generally had a great time.  We went to Kona....I did get sorta molested by a guy in corduroy shorts....he tried to put my hand on his junk (see 20 Great Responses to Terrible Pick-Up Lines, I mentioned it there.) But he did buy me a saki bomber, so life isn't all terrible.

We also decided to try a new place she had heard about.  So Saturday night I get gussied up, but not as gussied as Kona, as we all know how that ended.  She met me at my house, and we cruised down to the San Tan Brewing Company in downtown Chandler.  We sat at the outside bar and tried their micro brews.  WOW!  They are really good!  We got a little snack, and watched a band called "Sweaty" set up.

The staff was fantastic, and we had great conversation all around.

My friend Summer, who spent her summer in the middle east with her fiancé, Wael, (read all about it on her site: SummerRae.net) just got back in town.  The sad thing is, they won't be here for long, as they are moving out of state in a week or so.  So last night we decided to go out for a little "Girl Talk" and catch up on the past three months.  She asked if I had any new places - so I mentioned the San Tan - and that's where we ended up.  We drank beers, hung out, talked for a long time - and then ended up talking to some of the people I had met on Sat.

Other than that, life hasn't been too exciting.  I'm getting ready for another Salt River Tubing trip two weekends from now, probably the last one of the summer.  I would like to have another pool party - maybe Labor Day weekend?

I'm planning a major blog overhaul - also working on a few other sites that will be unveiled shortly.  A little tired and stressed today....but looking at the good stuff!
